Upholding the highest ethical and legal standards
Gift of Hope works with medical examiners, coroners, state attorneys, and law enforcement to uphold the highest ethical and legal standards. Open communication and collaboration enable successful investigations and donations.
ME/Coroner activation
When a legal next of kin cannot be located, or if the patient is unidentified, the coroner may have the authority to authorize organ and tissue donation. Gift of Hope collaborates with the ME/coroner to facilitate this process.
Deaths under investigation
In cases of sudden death, Gift of Hope works with the forensic team and ME/coroner to support their investigation while exploring the possibility of organ and tissue donation.
