Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network announces new vice presidents, new board members

ITASCA, Ill. – Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network announces two promotions to vice president on its leadership team and that two new members have joined its Board of Directors.
Michael Harmon, RN, has been promoted from director to Vice President of Organ Operations, and Shaun Martin, CTBS, has been promoted from director to Vice President of Tissue Operations & Facilities Management.
In addition, Pamela Mitchell-Boyd, Senior Director for Inclusion and Equity at Ascension Health, along with Elias Rosario, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer/Treasurer at the Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights have joined the Gift of Hope Board of Directors.
As Vice President of Organ Operations, Harmon will oversee all aspects of clinical operations for organ recovery, placement, perfusion and resource coordination ensuring organ donation processes operate smoothly and successfully. He began his career at Gift of Hope in 1997 as an organ recovery coordinator and was named to increasingly responsible positions before assuming his current leadership role. He holds degrees from Purdue University and Valparaiso University, as well as a certificate in donation and transplantation leadership from the Gift of Life Institute in collaboration with the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
As Vice President of Tissue Operations & Facilities Management, Martin is responsible for the development of procedures and protocols that ensure efficient and well-coordinated tissue recovery services, while also overseeing maintenance and organizational facilities. Martin started his career with Gift of Hope two decades ago as a tissue recovery coordinator and has since assumed leadership in several positions. He is a certified tissue bank specialist and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, as well as a certificate in The Art and Science of Leadership from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Pamela Mitchell-Boyd has joined the Gift of Hope Board of Directors with a wealth of experience in leadership and education about diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. As the Senior Director for Inclusion and Equity at Ascension Health, she supports the implantation of the equity and inclusion framework throughout the organization to ensure the company leadership team and stakeholders are informed and engaged in all diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives. Mitchell-Boyd previously served as AMITA Health’s System Director for Diversity, Inclusion & Language Services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and social policy from Northwestern University and a master’s degree from University of Chicago in clinical social work.
Elias Rosario has joined the Gift of Hope Board of Directors with a well-rounded background as a leader in the Chicago-area not-for-profit sector. Currently serving as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer/Treasurer for the Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights, Rosario oversees finance, human resources, risk management, IT, procurement, and facilities across 12 counties. He previously held roles with the Comer Science & Education Foundation, the Ounce of Prevention Fund, and Philadelphia and Chicago housing authorities. Rosario holds a master’s degree from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia.
