Michael Harmon, RN, CPTC, is Director of Organ Recovery Operations for Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network. In his role, Mike manages the strategic and daily activity of all organ recovery services clinical staff. He also develops and implements clinical policies, procedures and protocols for all aspects of the organ donation process. Before assuming his current role at Gift of Hope, Mike held several increasingly responsible positions in organ recovery services for the organization.
Mike joined Gift of Hope in 1997, then known as the Regional Organ Bank of Illinois, after serving as a staff nurse in the neurological intensive care unit at The Methodist Hospitals in Gary, Ind. A certified procurement transplant coordinator, he is a member of the North American Transplant Coordinators Organization. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Valparaiso University in Indiana, and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
