As Director of Organ Operations at Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, Lisa Hinsdale provides strategic direction and manages daily operations for all Organ Recovery Services clinical staff, who coordinate the organ and tissue donation process. This includes evaluating and caring for donors and overseeing allocation to recipients, organ recovery, organ perfusion and telepathology. She assisted in the creation of Gift of Hope’s Organ Donor Care Center at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, and maintains oversight of the day-to-day functions of the unit. 

Hinsdale maintains close relationships with transplant centers, focuses on optimizing organ utilization and ensures Gift of Hope’s clinical activities comply with all regulatory policies and regulations. 

Hinsdale worked as a staff nurse in the neuro/spine ICU at Northwestern Memorial Hospital before she began her career at Gift of Hope in 2010 as an Organ Recovery Coordinator. She was promoted to increasingly responsible positions and assumed her current leadership role in 2022. 

Hinsdale earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University and a master of business administration from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill. She is a certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator through the American Board of Transplant Certification.
