As the Director of Development for the Gift of Hope Community Foundation, Julie Flannery works with the executive leadership team and board to develop multi-faceted philanthropic plans to ensure sustainability for Gift of Hope’s programs and services. Cultivating new approaches to advance a culture of philanthropy, attract transformational gifts and implement metrics and analysis are among her strengths and responsibilities.
Flannery previously held leadership positions with the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics as vice president of development and communications (global) and director of philanthropy services for Loyola Medicine (Loyola University Medical Center, McNeal Hospital and Gottlieb Memorial Hospital). Prior to transitioning to the healthcare nonprofit space, she worked with the USDA/American Egg Board leading national digital marketing efforts for school foodservice, commercial foodservice, exports/imports and previously has held marketing roles with a variety of Fortune 500 companies.
Flannery holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from DePaul University, Chicago, and has held board positions with Food for Health and has volunteered for many years with Illinois Hospice & Palliative Care. She is currently completing her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
