Join us in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month – September 15 through October 15 – as we recognize the contributions the Hispanic community has made to American society and culture and honor our Mexican and Central American neighbors who celebrate their independence. During this month, Gift of Hope honors and recognizes the generosity of Hispanic organ and tissue donors and their families, while also underscoring the critical need for individuals from this diverse community to register as organ, eye and tissue donors. We also celebrate Hispanic transplant recipients, medical professionals and partners. Hispanic Heritage Month is a celebration of Hispanic history, culture and achievements in coordination with several Independence Day anniversaries:

• Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua: September 15
• Mexico: September 16
• Chile: September 18

Gift of Hope is taking this opportunity to honor the lifesaving gifts of organ and tissue donors and their families and the contributions of our partners who help make donation possible.

Gift of Hope is dedicated to saving and enhancing the lives of as many people as possible through organ and tissue donation and our mission is founded on the core belief that donation transcends all forms of diversity, connects people from all walks of life and offers the gift of life and healing to people in need. While more than 6,700 Hispanics received organ transplants in 2019, myths regarding organ and tissue donation continue to be major barriers preventing many from becoming registered donors. Our educational efforts during Hispanic Heritage Month aim to empower individuals to learn more about the lifesaving benefits of donation and encourage them to join the registry.
