Saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation would not be possible without the dedicated efforts of the many partners and advocates that promote donation:

  • Every single person and every family who makes the lifesaving decision to donate the gift of life
  • Volunteers through Donate Life Illinois and our Northwest Indiana Volunteer Network providing education and donor registration drives in their communities
  • Our multicultural task forces at work in the African-American and Hispanic communities
  • Clergy leaders who support congregants and families in their faith-based decisions to give hope through donation
  • Allied organizations at work with us to increase public understanding and support for organ and tissue donation as a critical public health issue

Take advantage of our education programs explaining how donation works,
how to register and why the need is so great.

Illinois license plates available to promote organ/tissue donation

Did you know that you can promote organ/tissue donation and support donation education in Illinois at the same time through special donor license plates?

The Illinois Secretary of State’s office offers license plates to promote donation in honor of Chicago Bears' great Walter Payton, whose struggle with rare liver cancer and the need for a transplant generated national attention to organ donation.  What’s more, purchasing the special plate helps provide funds for donor education throughout the state.
