Don’t wait—take just 30 seconds today to register your decision through the Illinois Organ/Tissue Donor Registry.

It is important to register after Jan. 1, 2006, when a new Illinois law went into effect. If you joined the old Illinois donor registry (before Jan. 1, 2006), your decision is not legally binding and a family member or another legal authority must still give consent for you to become a donor.

Following registration, you will receive a letter confirming your decision to donate life from the Illinois Secretary of State, whose office oversees the state donor registry.

Register your decision to donate today with the Indiana organ/tissue donor registry, managed by the Indiana Donation Alliance Foundation.

Like Illinois’ new donor registry, the Indiana registry enables us to honor your legal decision to donate without the need for additional consent from family members or another legal authority at the time of your death.

Related Information

In Illinois and Indiana, you must be 18 to register as an organ and tissue donor. If you are 17 or younger, inform family members of your wishes. Your parents or legal guardian must give permission for donation at the time of your death, until you turn 18 and can legally register as a donor.
